A jovem Isabella Springer foi a última atleta brasileira a participar de uma prova de esporte de inverno em 2017. A atleta da CBDN esteve presente em duas corridas de esqui alpino em Seefeld, na Áustria, na última quarta-feira, 27 de dezembro. Ela corre contra o tempo para tentar atingir o índice olímpico para os Jogos de PyeongChang, em fevereiro de 2018.
Isabella competiu em duas corridas de Slalom. Na primeira, ela ficou na 17ª posição com o tempo de 2min08seg97 e 212.84 pontos FIS - a austríaca Veronika Schwaiger venceu com 1min43seg64 e 36.87 pontos FIS. Na segunda prova, a brasileira foi a 26ª com 1min59seg63 e 179.88 pontos FIS - Elese Sommerova, da República Tcheca, venceu com 1min39seg76 e 36.47 pontos.
Aos 17 anos, a brasileira estreou oficialmente no circuito internacional de esqui alpino nesta temporada. Filha de uma brasileira com um alemão, Isabella mora em Freiburg e tem um objetivo bem simples neste primeiro ano: tentar garantir a classificação aos Jogos Olímpicos de Inverno de PyeongChang.
A missão, porém, não é nada fácil. Para obter o índice B, o que garantiria uma cota para o Brasil entre as mulheres, a atleta precisa ter cinco resultados abaixo dos 140 pontos FIS até 22 de janeiro de 2018.
